Oh no she didn't...

Oh, yes, I did. I've gone and done it. Something I swore I'd never do (well, at least not for another 10 years). I've made the move...to van-land. After weeks and weeks of looking for a new car, we finally bought a MINIVAN. Mike really wanted one..go figure. I was totally against it. But eventually, I conceded and agreed to at least drive one. Well, I liked it! It drives great, VERY EASY to get the girls in and out, and it's extremely comfy. So when I'm driving, I just close my eyes (not really) and imagine that it's a BMW. It's gonna be great to have on our trip to Disney next week!

Does this make me a "soccer mom"?.. yikes!

SOOOOOOOO funny!!! I SWORE I would NEVER drive a minivan. Then I had kids and have gotten so tired of the ins and outs of cars. Then with SUVs, you still have the lifting. I think a minivan would be FABULOUS because of the ease of use and the safety factor.
Who cares if you don't look as cool as the college student next to you? I still feel young but keep getting called "maam" by every high schooler and college student I see. Makes me feel great! ;)
Oh well. You sport your minivan! To all the other moms, you're really cool because you got a new shiny van. While some are breaking their backs lifting their kids into their super-cool gas guzzlers, you'll be putting yours in with ease and you'll have a smooth ride too. :):)

NOOOOOOO! I am in your boat. I have my gas guzzling SUV (thank you Annie), and it is super roomy, but when I go places with my "minivan" friends, I envy them a little. Whe cares what people like me think (ha!). Just keep dressing cute...don't buy mom jeans, and I'll still love you!

i am the one that wants a mini van and jack is fighting me. well, i don't really WANT a mini van but it just seems like it would be SOOOO much easier. i cannot believe i just typed that sentence. oh, NO!!!

Christie (from home) and Shae both told me that if i ever drove a minivan i would be IN LUV! shae even tried to convince me to drive hers so that i would see. not that either of them have a choice tho...they both have 4 little ones. anyway, it's not 4ever, before long, your girls will be older and doing their own thing and THEN you'll drive something that is all about YOU!!! right?? that is what i keep telling myself. we aren't getting anything new until we find out in september if we'll be going overseas or not. if we stay stateside, we might be joining the minivan club (yikes!). again, another sentence i CANNOT believe i just typed!!

Way to go Emily! You so crazy! I drive a little crossover that's awesome on gas but quite a tight squeeze when me and the girls have to all sit in back. That doesn't happen very often though! We are also thinking about taking the plunge into minivan land but i don't know when that'll be. Awesome that you get to take the girls to disney! Elizabeth is going to love that! She'll feel like she's in a fairytale book! We are thinking of making that trip next year, but we'll see!

OH NO! NOT YOU, EM!!! I didn't think you'd go to the dark side. Ugh.
I think minivan vs. SUV is more controversial and devisive than breast vs. bottle.
I'm sure it will be wonderful for driving to Disney. That sounds great. I think we are going to wait until our kids are older to do Disney- like 42 and 44 and they can bring their own kids.
Love you (anyway)!!

Yeah Emily!! Let me just say- when I was pregnant with Marc we got a big gas guzzling SUV and traded it in a year later. I hated lifting my fat baby and there wasn't enough storage. I'm in LOVE with my van. I have SO MUCH room in the back and it saves so much money on gas and it's easy to park. And our newer one has a sun roof and leather seats so I still feel hip! Congratulations- it's a wise investment!
